Welcome to the NotionGate Wiki
NotionGate is a Windows desktop app that bridges your local file system and your Notion workspace.
It solves one key problem: Notion cannot link directly to local files (for example, C:\\Documents\\MyProject.pdf).
The Problem
Until now, you had to either upload files directly to Notion (consuming storage and creating duplicates) or use file:// links, which are often blocked by browsers and unclickable in the Notion desktop app.
The Solution
NotionGate creates local file links that you can click from Notion. When clicked, NotionGate resolves the local target and opens it with your default application.
It also acts as a watchdog: it monitors configured folders and automatically adds links for new files directly to your Notion pages.
