File Linking

File Linking lets you generate one-time local file links and reuse them in Notion whenever needed.

How It Works

  1. 1. Open Mappings -> File links.
  2. 2. Select a local file path (and optional label).
  3. 3. Generate the file link.
  4. 4. Copy the Notion-ready link and paste it where you need it.

Important Behavior

  • - File links are one-time generated entries that can be reused.
  • - They are not lifecycle-synced mappings.
  • - File creations, deletions, and renames are not tracked automatically for these links.
  • - If a file is moved or deleted, regenerate or remove the old link.

Limits

  • - Basic: usage is shown as used/limit with remaining count.
  • - Pro/Team: stored file-link counts are shown in-app.
  • - Plan rules are always enforced by your current account tier.
